As previously reported, WWE is currently interested in a current IWGP champion and major long-time New Japan Pro Wrestling superstar, as the mad dash for talent acquisitions begins among all major wrestling companies heading into 2019.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is also looking at two more names, and they both happen to be former Mae Young Classic competitors — Karen Q and Rachael Ellering.
Ellering is the daughter of legendary manager Paul Ellering, and a graduate of Lance Storm’s wrestling academy. She has been wrestling for three years, and entered the 2017 WWE Mae Young Classic, making it to the second round before being eliminated by Kimber Lee (fka Abbey Laith). Ellering returned for this year’s tournament as well, but lost to Hiroyo Matsumoto in the opening round.

Karen Q has been wrestling since 2014. She has been competing for Ring of Honor in their “Women of Honor” division for the past two years, and took part in a tournament to crown the promotion’s inaugural women’s champion. She will actually be competing next weekend at ROH Final Battle as a part of a four-way match against Sumie Sakai, Madison Rayne and Kelly Klein for that very same title.
