Aleister Black managed to retain the NXT Championship against all odds this weekend at NXT Takeover: Chicago, downing the monstrous Lars Sullivan. The champ did not leave the bout unscathed, and was noticeably shaken up backstage. Check out the video above.
Dream-Mania Running Wild in Chicago
While the Velveteen Dream was unsuccessful in sending his NXT Takeover: Chicago opponent Ricochet “back to the Bingo halls” where he came from the 22-year-old star certain made a splash with his Hulk Hogan themed entrance. You can check out the full video below
Many fans in attendance at the show also noted Dream’s ring gear was also vaguely reminiscent of gear that Prince Puma (played by Ricochet) would wear in Lucha Underground.
Speaking of the excellent bout between Velveteen Dream and Ricochet, the later of the two caught up with WWE cameras after the match, claiming that he proved to the NXT Universe that he’s more than “an animated GIF”. Check it out below.
