Week 1’s injury news keeps trickling into the new week as fantasy football owners get ready to turn the page to Week 2. Derrius Guice, out of the blue but not necessarily unexpectedly, has an injury to the knee that wasn’t hurt last season. In Pittsburgh, JuJu Smith-Schuster needs X-rays for a toe injury. These are two players that weren’t even on the start ’em, sit ’em bubble based on rankings, so any negatives on the injury front will really shake up lineups and send some owners to the waiver wire. More should become clear on these two in the coming day or two.

WEEK 2 NON-PPR RANKINGS:

How bad is JuJu Smith-Schuster’s injury?
Smith-Schuster sustained a toe injury late in Pittsburgh’s blowout loss on Sunday night, in which he finished with six catches for 78 yards. JuJu is expected to undergo X-rays this week. He did return to the game after the play in which he apparently injured his toe, although he could be seen limping between plays on the broadcast.
(Update: Ian Rapoport reported that X-rays were negative and JuJu is “going to be fine.”
This doesn’t look like anything seriouis, but the Steelers won’t take any chances if the X-rays show anything negative. Donte Moncrief looked brutal in Week 1, but he, James Washington, Ryan Switzer and Diontae Johnson would all stand to gain targets if Smith-Schuster missed any time.

Derrius Guice injury update
Guice didn’t find success in his NFL regular-season debut, picking up just 18 yards on 10 carries. Ian Rapoport reported that Guice underwent an MRI on Monday morning on the knee that wasn’t injured last year. “He’s likely to miss some time,” Rapoport added.
WEEK 2 PPR RANKINGS: Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end
Well, how’s this for interesting: Adrian Peterson might go from Week 1 inactive to 20 carries in Week 2. Peterson surprisingly surpassed 1,000 yards on the ground in 2018, so he still has something left in the tank. If owners had given up on him already after inactives came out Sunday, Peterson is worth a waiver-wire claim.
