With an aim to reduce fuel cost which would eventually impact the cost of air travel, India’s first biofuel-powered flight has been tested successfully. This biofuel will replace the costly aviation turbine fuel. The test flight was conducted on a 72 seater SpiceJet aircraft which took off from Dehradun to Delhi.
The biofuel is made partially of renewable sources such as non-edible oils, bio-degradable components of industrial and municipal waste and agricultural residues.
