In A Last-Ditch Effort To Save Delhi, Three Pilot Projects To Be Launched To Curb Pollution

Delhi has earned the unpleasant distinction of being among the most polluted cities on Earth. The airborne particles and toxic chemicals that make up the smog have choked the 19 million residents of the metropolitan area, where merely breathing the air was, at its worst, like smoking 50 cigarettes in a day.

To overcome the disaster of epic proportions, the Environment Ministry has lined up an array of measures to tackle Delhi’s deadly air pollution, which goes from bad to worse during the months of November and December.

Delhi is set to launch three pilot projects to tackle dust pollution – mounting filters on buses, using dust separation chemical sprays and installing equipment to suck in particulate matters.
