One of the hidden reasons for TNA’s “Final Deletion” hype was trying to erase the memory of Technical Malfunction Night when TNA and Pop TV could not get a semi-live episode on the air. The result was a slight bump in social media activity.

July 5: TNA Impact ranked #5 among series & specials in Nielsen’s Twitter TV Ratings for Tuesday night, similar to Technical Malfunction Night.

If compared to one-off sports programming, Impact would have ranked #4 behind two MLB games and Wimbledon coverage.

Impact drew 22,000 tweets from 5,o00 unique authors.

By comparison, Technical Malfunction on June 14 drew 19,000 tweets from 4,000 unique authors.
