Mae Young Classic Semifinals Set, New Takeover Match, Cena’s Book

Evolution will be taking place at the end of the month, which means that there is only one more week left of the Mae Young Classic tournament. Although the show will be coming to an end soon, the semifinals are set for next week’s show. It will be none other than Toni Storm taking on Meiko Satomura in one of the matches, and other Io Shirai will face Rhea Ripley next week as well. Unfortunately, an injury to Tegan Nox cost her the opportunity to move on to the finals during her quarterfinals match against Ripley last night. Next week’s Mae Young Classic show determines the two women who will advance to the finals of the tournament before ultimately crowning a winner at the Evolution show on October 28th.

It was almost one year ago when WWE announced that the old WarGames match that had been popularized in WCW would be coming back for one of their NXT Takeover events. It was certainly unique to see the two rings and large cage around them once again last year, but the match will be brought back this November. During last night’s set of NXT tapings, William Regal announced that NXT Takeover WarGames will be taking place on November 17th in Los Angeles, California. The match will see two teams that each consist of four members face each other. The Undisputed Era’s Adam Cole, Bobby Fish, Roderick Strong, and Kyle O’Reilly will be competing against the team of Ricochet, Pete Dunne, and The War Raiders.

Although he wasn’t able to attend SmackDown 1000 this week, John Cena is getting ready to compete in the WWE World Cup tournament at Crown Jewel on November 2nd. Meanwhile, he is still in China filming a new movie with Jackie Chan, and he also just released his first children’s book: Elbow Grease. The book is proving to be a major success as Cena has now officially become a New York Times #1 best selling author in the children’s category. The book is about a monster truck who wants to prove that he is destined for success despite his small size. John Cena commented on the huge achievement on Twitter not long after the new was reported. Cena’s book is also available for purchase online and in book stores.
