Brock Lesnar/UFC Update, Arquette at WWE HQ, Paige Scouts Talent

Brock Lesnar dropped the Universal Championship to Roman Reigns during the SummerSlam pay-per-view last month and has not appeared on WWE programming at all since then, seemingly indicating that he is gone from the company and is currently training for his return to MMA. Lesnar has been rumored to make a UFC comeback for several months now, and it looks like the process is definitely underway at the moment. In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it was mentioned that Lesnar has not signed a contract to fight Daniel Cormier in UFC yet, but that is expected to change soon. The fight is rumored to be taking place in early 2019, and Cormier has said before that he expects the fight to happen on February 2nd.
Who would predicted that actor David Arquette would become a world champion in pro wrestling one day, but love it or hate it, he defied the odds and won WCW’s top prize before later returning to acting. Arquette is still a huge fan of wrestling, and he even resumed his career earlier this year and has been wrestling at a few independent shows over the past few months. Interestingly, Arquette recently posted an image of himself visiting WWE’s headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut. No word on if Arquette was visiting WWE HQ, but perhaps he could be working with the company on a new project soon. What in known is that he will return to the ring to team up with The Hurricane for against King Brian and Anthony Batile for Northeastern Wrestling in New York on September 14th.

It was heartbreaking when Paige announced her retirement from pro wrestling earlier this year due to a number of injuries disqualifying her from being an active competitor in WWE, but she was later made the General Manager of SmackDown and she has been more than capable in the role thus far. As most WWE fans know, the 2018 Mae Young Classic is currently airing on the WWE Network, and the SmackDown GM has just teased that she is scouting talent from the tournament. Paige recommends watching the tournament in a new video on WWE’s YoutTube channel while also noting that there could be a few new additions to the women’s division on the SmackDown brand soon enough as a result of the Mae Young Classic.
