WWE Planning All-Women’s Show? Title Change on NXT, Bryan Update

Fans may remember that when WWE presented their Greatest Royal Rumble event in Saudi Arabia earlier this year, there was absolutely no women’s wrestling featured on the program at all. The company did receive some backlash from fans as a result of their decision to leave the female stars off of the show, but it appears that the company could be making up for it with an all-women’s wrestling event later this year. According to Pro Wrestling Sheet, a show consisting entirely of female performers is now seriously being discussed by WWE officials, and it could be airing on the WWE Network in either September or October of this year. Stay tuned for additional updates on WWE’s possible plans for the event.
Although the United Kingdom Championship did not change hands during the titular United Kingdom Championship Tournament earlier this year, fans in the UK did get to witness Tyler Bate and Trent Seven of Mustache Mountain win the NXT Tag Team Championships from Kyle O’Reilly and Roderick Strong during night two of the tournament. Although their win was a fee-good moment, The Undisputed Era was quick to invoke their rematch clause for the titles. During last night’s episode of NXT, O’Reilly and Strong were able to defeat Seven and Bate to regain the NXT Tag Team Championships. The win marks the second official reign as NXT Tag Team Champions for The Undisputed Era.

Daniel Bryan and Kane could very well end up winning the Smackdown Tag Team Championships during the Extreme Rules pay-per-view this Sunday night, but there is still a great deal of doubt over whether or not Daniel Bryan will be staying with WWE. Bryan’s current deal with WWE is reportedly expiring on September 1st, and the former WWE Champion has still not signed a new contract with the company. However, PWInsider just noted that Bryan is now being advertised for a Smackdown TV show on September 4th. While this listing could change over the next few weeks, this may be a sign that a new deal between WWE and Daniel Bryan is either finalized or is at least very close to being completed.
