New NXT Title Announced, Strowman Partner News, PWG Leaves Reseda

Although a few United Kingdom Championship title defenses have taken place on NXT in the past, the brand has been without a secondary title ever since the show was launched. NXT General Manager William Regal just made an announcement on NXT this week that officially changed all of that. Regal confirmed that a brand new North American Championship will debut at NXT Takeover: New Orleans. A ladder match between Ricochet, EC3, The Velveteen Dream, Adam Cole, Killian Dain, and Lars Sullivan will take place during the show to crown the title’s first holder. The match happens at NXT Takeover: New Orleans, which will be taking place on April 7th on the WWE Network.

Braun Strowman is currently set to face The Bar at WrestleMania for the Raw Tag Team Championships, but he has been required to find himself a partner for the match. Strowman has chosen not to reveal who his partner for the match will be, instead opting to save the reveal for WrestleMania itself. However, Sports Illustrated has provided an update on who this mystery partner could end up being. Justin Barrasso of SI now reports that none other than Rey Mysterio will likely work as Strowman’s partner if he can get cleared by WWE doctors from his current bicep injury in time for the show. If this plan does come to fruition, it will likely indicate that Mysterio has signed a short-term deal with the company.
Pro Wrestling Guerilla just recently hosted the ‘Time is a Flat Circle’ event in The Globe Theatre in Downtown Los Angeles, which is a considerably larger building than the American Legion Hall in Reseda, California. The promotion has been hosting shows from the latter venue for years now, but PWG just announced that they will be hosting their final shows in the area later this year. There has been no confirmation as to whether or not The Globe Theatre will now permanently host PWG, but that seems like the most likely scenario at this point. The promotion has confirmed that the final shows to take place in Reseda will be officially be held on April 20th, the 21st, and on May 25th of this year.

PWG says goodbye to Reseda. The final three shows at the American Legion Hall will take place on April 20th/21st, and May 25th!
