Reason for Ruby Riott Change, Hype Bros Split, Singh Bros Note

Last night’s Smackdown show saw former NXT wrestler Ruby Riot receive a slight name tweak to Ruby Riott. She, Liv Morgan, and Sarah Logan continued their dominance once again on Smackdown this week and revealed their “Riott Squad” team name. As far as why the extra “t” was added to Ruby’s name, PWInsider speculates that the company changed it in order to own the name. WWE’s previous copyright claim for “Ruby Riot” is currently listed as “responded still unresolved,” which means that ownership is not secure. They added her to the WWE 2K18 roster as a downloadable character anyway, but now that she is on the main roster, it would not be surprising to learn that WWE wants to officially acquire ownership of the name, which is more likely if they add another “t”.
Several prominent tag teams have broken up in WWE this year, including Enzo and Cass, American Alpha, #DIY, The Golden Truth, and more. When it comes to Mojo Rawley and Zack Ryder, they have been teasing dissension for a while now. The Hype Bros lost once again to the Bludgeon Brothers on Smackdown last night, and after the match, the team was interviewed in the ring by Dasha Fuentes. Mojo Rawley then blindsided and attacked Zack Ryder, confirming that the team is no longer together. Rawley and Ryder first teamed together when Mojo was still in NXT, and they were promoted to the main roster last year.

I’m sure @MojoRawleyWWE thinks he just put me through the Barber Shop window.
He couldn’t be more wrong.
Actually…I take that back…Mojo has no idea who the Rockers are. #SDLive

The Hype Bros were not the only team to split up on Smackdown last night. After attacking AJ Styles before their scheduled 2-on-1 handicap match, the Singh Brothers were still unable to defeat Styles. This led to Jinder Mahal turning on his friends, laying each of the two brothers out with a Khallas. PWInsider notes that WWE has been planning to write the Singh Brothers off of television for a while now, last night’s turn seemed to finally do the trick. No word on whether or not the Singh Brothers are expected to stay on the main roster, go back to NXT, or once again take on their former Bollywood gimmick.
